Side Sweep System
This automatic side sweep unit is designed to take material directly from the glue application point onto a four or five inch wide conveyor belt traveling at 300 FPM. It also allows either one or two rows of glued material to be side transferred with total combined stock lengths of up to 99 to 100-inches long.
The unique mechanical arrangement of the sweep bars allow for gradual acceleration at the start to transfer and gradual deceleration at the full stroke point of transfer. This form of movement improves the handling of smaller and narrower material. In addition to the transfer speed is precision controlled and viewed via a digital readout. This allows easier repeated setup for various material handling situations.
A third sweep bar can be used for lengths above 144 to 192-inches or long parts.
The side transfer frame housing the sweep bars and the material transport conveyor are built as two separate entities. This allows easier leveling and matching ability to the press infeed conveyor or changing bar system, or for modification at a later date. This system, as packaged, makes a very flexible unit.
